VIKE

A painted relief sculpture based faithfully on a digital photo collage of images from Hawaii and Iceland. A porthole from British shipwreck Epine GY7  framing the face of Princess Ka’iulani was photographed on the beach at Djúpalónssandur Iceland and carefully blended with an underwater shot made at Kealakekua Bay in Hawaii. The portrait of the princess was painted on canvas then cut and pasted into the finished piece.
